Classic Crêpe


Plain Flour 100g (4oz) 

Caster sugar 1/2 tsp

Salt 1/4 tsp

Semi-skimmed milk 225ml (8fl oz)

Egg x1

Olive oil / Unsalted Butter

Put all ingredients in a mixing bowl, excluding the milk,  and use an electric or handheld whisk to combine the ingredients. Gradually pour in the milk, in two or three parts, making sure all the ingredients are well blended together. (N.B. You may add less or more sugar, but the nature of the Crêpe recipe is such that you can add a sweet or savoury topping)

Heat a frying pan, adding either olive oil or butter to grease the pan. If the pan is hot enough it should only take a 2-3mins to cook each side.

[Remember not to add too much grease, else the Crêpes will become too oily.]

Serve with a sweet or savoury filling.
